In January 1981, a small group of dedicated followers of Christ came together to form Christ Community Church. As the founding pastor, it has been my great joy to see an ever-increasing group of people come together and embrace one another with a vision to make a difference in Horry County. Our earlier years were marked by an unbridled passion for God and an uncompromising devotion to one another.

God has since added to our vision an understanding of just how much people matter to God. He has stirred our hearts with an irrevocable commitment to reach people who are far from Him. This relatively new value has led us to a place of marked transition. The commitment to be more outreach oriented and the desire to honor our God-given roots has birthed a unique church with a powerful blend of values. We sense a strong responsibility each weekend to present Christ in a relevant, authentic and non-threatening way.

Our dependence upon the Holy Spirit and our commitment to excellence creates an environment conducive to connecting people with God. The combination of just enough expressed passion for God mixed with a relentless dedication to reaching the non-churched has resulted in a unique but powerful experience for believers and seekers alike. When you have a group of people radically devoted to Christ, irrevocably committed to each other, and relentlessly dedicated to reaching those outside God's family with the gospel, you have an unstoppable force. God is doing some wonderful things each week in people's lives.
